Planning a trip to Prague? Most likely, you’ll be flying in, but the city’s main airport, Václav Havel, is located quite a distance from the heart of Prague. While there isn’t a direct transport route to the city center, don’t worry—we’ve got you covered! Here’s the simplest and quickest way to get from the airport to Prague’s center.

Step 1: Head to the Bus Stop

Once you’ve disembarked from your flight, follow the signs to the exit of Terminal 2. Right outside the terminal door, on the right, you’ll find the bus stop. It’s easy to spot, and once you’re there, you can begin your journey into the city.

Step 2: Purchase Your Bus Ticket

At the bus stop, there are ticket vending machines located nearby. These machines are user-friendly and offer an option to switch to English, making it simple to navigate. A 30-minute ticket will cost 24 Czech Crowns (about 0.94€), while a 90-minute ticket will cost 32 Czech Crowns (around 1.26€).

Tip: We recommend buying the 90-minute ticket. It costs just a little more but gives you extra time to reach your destination. Plus, it’s valid for all public transport, including the metro and trams!

If you have large luggage (larger than 25 x 45 x 70 cm), there’s a small extra fee of 16 Czech Crowns. However, if you purchase a 24-hour (110 CZK) or a 72-hour (310 CZK) ticket, this fee is included.

Important: Don’t forget to validate your ticket at the yellow machines located at the bus stop and inside the bus. Prague has strict controls, and an unvalidated ticket is considered invalid.

Pro Tip: Your ticket’s validity starts only after you validate it, not when you purchase it. Wait for the bus to arrive before validating, so you don’t waste any time.

Step 3: Take Bus 119 to Nádraží Veleslavín

Hop on Bus 119 and ride it to the last stop, Nádraží Veleslavín. This stop is a significant transport hub, so it might feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere at first. But no worries—just follow the crowd heading toward the metro entrance, which will be right in front of you. You’ll be fine!

Note: You don’t need to validate your ticket again once you’re on the bus.

Step 4: Switch to Metro Line A

From Nádraží Veleslavín, take Metro Line A, which will take you directly to Wenceslas Square (Muzeum stop) in the heart of Prague.
